trick or treat!

For Halloween, how about a cousin of the Box Elder Bug dressing up in fancy orange pantaloons? This is a leaf-footed bug, Anisoscelis flavolineata, about an inch long.  It and many relatives were all over a passion vine outside our lodge in Panama.  Boo!

Back in the late 1960's I used to live in the Canal Zone
Cardenas Village
my father was an air traffic controler and transfered us down there for 3 years
it was great
but I wish I had done more exploring of the natural world down there!
