esa action required NOW

A follow-up to the post on the sneak attack on the Endangered Species Act: The full House could vote on HR 3824, which substantially weakens the ESA, as early as today (it already passed committee). Without public pressure, this potentially devastating bill will sail through the House and head to the Senate.  The American Bird Conservancy has set up a web page with background info, a link to find your Representative, sample text for a letter, and an online form they will use to petition Congress.  Take a minute to make your voice heard.

P.S.  I know I have not been posting thoughtful essays lately.  Bear with me, this is my super-busy field season. If you can put up with "bootstrap light" for awhile, I promise too return to spending more than 15 minutes at a time to write a post...
