urban ecology resources

As a field ecologist working in an urban area, I can sometimes feel like the ugly stepchild. Despite the fact that nearly half the world's population lives in urban areas, it is still not very fashionable for ecologists to do field work in urban areas or specialize in urban ecology. A recent paper was revealing. The authors reviewed papers in the three top conservation journals (Biodiversity and Conservation, Conservation Biology, and Biological Conservation).  Only 2% of 283 studies were conducted in urban habitats.

Scattered in my files and on various computers are a number of urban ecology resources that I find handy.  I've started compiling them, and figure this is as good a place as any to bring them together and share them.  They are in the sidebar, near the bottom.  This list isn't meant to be comprehensive and because I'm an ornithologist, the resources are a little biased toward birds.  I'll add to the list as compelling items come to light -- and I'll take suggestions here in the Comments.

Fazey, I., J. Fischer, and D. B. Lindenmayer.  2005.  What do conservation biologists publish? Biol. Cons. 124:63-73.
